A Century of Gardening, Community, and Conservation

The Monadnock Garden Club was delighted to host Marilyn Donahue, National President of The Garden Club of America at a club meeting in 2025. Club President, Robin Turnbaugh accepted a certificate honoring the club’s 100th anniversary, presented by Marilyn.

The Monadnock Garden Club (MGC) was founded in 1925 and is one of the oldest clubs in the nation.  Over the years MGC has been involved in multiple community and regional conservation and beautification projects, including the Spalding Trail, named for one of the club founders, on Mt. Monadnock, which members maintain to this day.

In addition, over the years MGC has been involved in beautification projects around the region at places such as the Wyman Tavern, Ashuelot Park, Cedarcrest Children’s Center, Crotched Mountain Rehab Center, and Monadnock Community Hospital. And every year, the club continues to make a contribution to the NH Society for the Protection of Forests.
